| Shah Rukh Khan is rich and famous today, but the man had his fair share of stumbling blocks. He reminisces about the days way before he became a television actor. “I earned my first salary by ushering. It wasa Pankaj Udhas concert, and I was checking entry tickets and taking people to their seats. I earned Rs. 50 and was on the top of the world,” he says.
What did Shah Rukh Khan do with his first pay? “Well, just like anybody I used it to fulfill my dream. I got into a train and reached Agra. My wish was always to see the Taj Mahal. All this was way before even my Fauji days,” he smiles.
So life may be hunky-dory for the actor today, but it’s difficult for SRK to forget the tough yesterdays. “Those days keep you humble and your feet firmly rooted. They were also very beautiful,” he signs off. | |
